Change the Price/Unit Display of Your Ingredients

You want to customize how your ingredients display their price/unit (e.g. "I want my ingredients to show price per lb not price per oz")

Many customers purchase an ingredient based on some unit of measure (e.g. lbs), but they want the ingredient to display their pricing based on a different unit (e.g. oz).

This is easily done in the ingredient settings. Click New or Edit an existing ingredient, and at the bottom of the form in the "Allergens, Ingredient List, Notes, etc." section you will find the following:

From this dropdown you can easily change the units that your ingredient prices are displayed in.

Keep in mind that we may still show you this ingredient in other units, for example:

  • In the context of purchasing or inventory, we will always display the units as you entered them in purchase units
  • In the context of creating recipes, we will display the units as you've chosen to enter them in your recipes (e.g. if you add cups of an ingredient in your recipe, then in that recipe we will always show it as cups).
